My One Word For 2015

My one word for 2015 is…

We’ll come onto that in a minute, but firstly I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that you’re looking forward to a fabulous New Year.  If you don’t celebrate Christmas then I hope you had some well deserved time off.

We had a lovely time, lots of time to read and doodle, playing board games and just generally relaxing, something I find a bit of a challenge but seem to really enjoy at Christmas.

At this time of year I like to set myself a word for how I want to feel in the New Year.  I’m a coach and I’m all for setting goals but I also like to have a word to guide me.  A word I come back to time and time again is FABULOUS.  It sums up everything for me; happiness, fun, joy, glamour, relaxation, family time etc.  This year for some reason I want a different guiding word.  Fabulous will still very much be me but this new word will be my driver.

My one word for 2015 is going to be;

SIMPLICITY

To help me remember this I’m going to use my favourite motto of KISS – Keep It Simple Sweetie.

I can sometimes overcomplicate things in life so I want to bring in simplicity.  This is going to be across the board – in how I run my business by bringing in systems so that I can move it up to the next level, the services I offer and how I offer them, and in life I also want to keep things simple, to go with the flow of the day rather than keep ‘pushing’ in my normal style.

Simplicity #simplicity #goal #coaching

I plan to organise my day, my home, my life in a way that feels easy, in a way that enables me to be more present with my family and have time to spend with my friends. I can spend a lot of time in my head and find it hard to shift into relaxation mode, so being more organised will help me with this.

I plan to choose what things are right for me and what aren’t, to set the right boundaries in my personal and business life.   One of the big lessons I learnt this year is that I know when it’s the right decision because it brings me peace.  I am going to read ‘whole’ books, so that I feel like I’m completing them rather than dabbling and not finishing them.  I want to create more things, whether that’s in my card-making, crochet, doodling or creating things for my business – I love creating.  Part of that is co-writing some chapters for a book – exciting!  Simplicity for me also means I’m going to spend more time on my own self-care.

Focusing on how you want to feel what word would be right for you for 2015?  It doesn’t have to be just one, you can have more but having one is a great way to stay committed and focused.

How would life be different if you used your word to guide you throughout 2015?

I hope you enjoyed the mini series leading up to Christmas.  If you missed it you can find the links to each day here…

These steps are the steps I used to build my own coaching business and they also relate to each of the modules I teach on my live Coaching Rocks Bootcamp programme that’s starting up again on Monday 12th January.  I’m going to be running the bootcamp with LIVE weekly training so if you’ve been thinking of working with me then bite the bullet and grab my Early Bird Offer.

Due to the VAT guidelines I’m withdrawing the Self-Study programme tomorrow, 10pm GMT, 31st December.  If you want to build the foundations of your fabulous coaching business in 12 simple steps then now is the time.  After tomorrow the self study version is gone.  Here’s what one of my clients said about the programme;

  1. Hi Ruby, I love this! My words (sorry I do need two) are ABUNDANCE and BELIEF! This is to bring in an abundance of love into my life – both business and personal – love for my clients and their business results,, my business, my family and friends. Also an abundance of women I can help and of opportunities I can work with others and give too! Belief in my clients abilities as well as my own. Belief that I can run a successful and thriving business as well as juggle being a mum and gran, belief in my ability to grow and teach others in an authentic and fun manner and belief that I am on my right path (with a sense of peace) regardless where that journey takes me. Yay to 2015!!!

    • Thank you for sharing. Love your words Lyn. Love that you are bringing in your words for belief for your own clients as much as your own. It’s so important that we believe our clients can succeed as sometimes it’s our belief that can keep them going, until their own belief starts to kick in. I agree – Yay to 2015!

  2. My word is going to be successful. 2015 is where I will see my business change and grow but I also am going to choose Inspired and Empowered as this is how I want to feel in 2015. Exciting opportunities are on the horizon and I hope they come to fruition.

    • Love your word(s) Sharon. I look forward to seeing how your exciting opportunities unfold, keep trusting and taking baby steps and you will be successful :)

  3. Grasp is my word for 2015….this is a practice that’s new to me and I have to say I love it. Grasp is definitely a word for business, but also a word for life! How often do we hold onto the bad things in life and forget the good! This year, we should all grasp the blessings we have, in business and not, and I plan on doing just that :)

    • What a great word Karen, it’s such a practical word. You are so right about grasping our blessings – LOVE that! Thank you for sharing :)

  4. Emily Bristol says:

Prosperous/Profitable!! I need to get out of the red and into the black!!

    • Love that you’re setting that as your intention. What you focus on happens! Here’s to a prosperous and profitable 2015 for you! :)

  5. Hi Ruby,

My word is abundance – it’s just singing out to me. An abundance of joy and profit!

  6. Simply great post Ruby! My word is ‘heart’. Like a system of its own, I will be driven by my heart which will feel good and fill my heart. In other words I will be trusting my subconscious (a powerful force). I’ll be putting my heart into my home life and my work life.

  7. Rebecca Ronane says:

Success with a capital S! I want to build on 2014 which was a learning/changing year. So here is to turning all the amazing information that was shared with me into a great success.

    • Loving the capital S Rebecca! I’ve heard a lot of people say that 2014 has been a year of learning/changing. I know I’ve been through that process too. Here’s to a successful 2015 where you get to build on all you’ve done so far!

  8. I’m afraid mine would have to be ME I have spent most of the last year doing things, fighting battles and dealing with so much for others that I appear to have been forgotten. So for 2015 I intend to look after myself a little and do things for me and that make me happy. Xx

    • I LOVE that you’ve chosen YOU Naomi! One of the things my clients will tell you is I’ve been banging on about self-care all year! It’s so very important for us to recharge and revitalise ourselves first, especially when there are others in our lives such as children, parents, partners etc. Choosing you is a fabulous thing to do. I wish 2015 to be all you want it to be :)

  9. I’d keep it simple and go with Awesome. Thats about doing all the things that my NLP Master pract has taught me. Oh and looking at the idea of cycling end to end

  10. My word is “stunning” :)

    • Stunning – that’s a great word Shan! I wonder how you have envisioned that playing out in 2015 – I’m intrigued :)

  11. I choose ‘peace’. I want to create peace in my head and my environment and feel comfortable in my life and work choices. It took me ages to plump for the right word!!

    • Beautiful word – I read a gorgeous quote on Pinterest the other day about knowing when you’ve made the right decision because you feel peace. A great word to guide you :)

  12. Deb Cassie says:

fulfilment is my power word to drive me. To fill my world with all my thoughts that have been racing around my head like a horse race. The year of making it all happen.

    • Fulfilment – such a powerful word – love it! It sounds like a pen and paper to get out of your head would be a fabulous idea. Here’s to you making it all happen! :)

  13. Abundance – in every area of life. Of being conscious of it, thankful for it and ready to accept it when it is offered :) x

    • Abundance is a wonderful one because it goes across so many areas. I agree – being conscious, thankful and ready to accept it is so key :) Happy abundant 2015!

  14. My word is FOCUS…I find myself jumping from project to project, always doing something but not finishing much of anything. I spend a lot of time working on Busy-ness instead of my BUSINESS and that stops this year! I want my business successful and growing and that can’t happen with me flitting around all over the place. Time for FOCUS, :-)

  15. Great word Laura! It’s amazing what you can get done when you are really clear on what it is that you want. I agree, definitely time for some focus :)

  16. I think my word for the coming year will be “flourish”.
It strikes me as delicate yet powerful and feminine at the same time.
I want to and ready to flourish in all areas of my life and business :)

  17. My one word for 2015 “Inspiring!” I want to be an inspiration to others to follow their purpose, passion, goals and dreams in life. :)

  18. i’m going to choose 2 words: Balanced and Focused.

Balanced in terms of work/home life. This is something I have always struggled with, but it’s my mission this year to find a balance and make the most of both times by being Focused on them each at the time. I’m expecting this to be the biggest challenge of my year, but one I am hoping to be able to achieve.

  19. Presence – to experience every minute of life, – to listen, – to be a helpful guide to those who look for guidance, – to always notice and express thanks when someone says/or does something that is helpful to me, – to notice when my own fire of love needs tending to, – to notice the beauty and love in each minute.

    • Love your word for the year. It’s so important to notice and experience life. A lovely comment Pia, thank you for sharing :)
