Step One is all about Getting Started. It’s very easy to rush into things but to start out there are a few things you may want to consider;
Business practicalities
How will you operate in your business? As a sole trader, a limited company, etc?
Do you need to be registered under the Data Protection Act?
Do you need an Accountant?
What about insurance? How will you make sure you’re protected in case something goes wrong?
Decluttering
In what areas of your life do you need to declutter? Both physically and mentally? Physical decluttering will give you the space that you need for your business. Where will you work? If working from home how will you keep your work life separate from your home life? What do you need to do to feel organised ready to run your own business?
What about mental decluttering? Do you need to work on your mindset so that you’re confident in starting out on your own? Who could support you as you set yourself up?
Self-Care
This is an area that’s often neglected by business owners. If you want to be of service to others then you have to put in some self-care strategies for yourself. If you’re working part-time while building your business then how will you ensure you don’t get burnt out, and make time for you? If you’re running your business full-time you may find you want to throw yourself into everything 100% but time out is really important. It will revitalise you and you may even be amazed at what comes up in terms of business ideas and creativity when you’re not in work mode.
