Coaching is about collaboration – it’s us working together to enable you to achieve your goals, dreams and desires. I’m not a Therapist or a Counsellor, so won’t be taking you to the past, nor am I a Consultant so I won’t be giving you advice. Coaching is about the here and now and where you want to be. If you’re a Coach you already know this.
To quote Lewis Carroll in his book, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Alice asks the Cheshire Cat..
‘What road do I take?’ ‘Well, where are you going?’ ‘I don’t know’ ‘Then it doesn’t matter. If you don’t know where you’re going then any road will get you there’.
My job is to help you unlock the answers. I will help you to figure out where you’re going, work with you to define a strategy towards achieving what you want in life/business and help you identify what road to take to get you there. I will remind you of how amazing you are, what you have achieved and can achieve. I will help you think differently, you will learn how to deal with situations/events in your life the best way for you. If you’re a Coach then I will help build your confidence in your Coaching skills, by mentoring, training and coaching you, supporting you as you grow as a Coach.
Often the biggest thing that holds us back is fear; we know what we want to do but we see these huge scary obstacles in our way. The best goals are those that make you feel a bit scared, but exhilarated too. Together we will work through your fears, unpick any limiting beliefs or confidence issues you may have and unblock what’s holding you back.
How does it work?
Firstly, I only work with people that generally feel they want to live their best life. You believe you deserve the best and realise there is so much more you could be doing with your life. If you’re willing to put in some effort, get out of your comfort zone, not make excuses and are genuinely committed to making changes, then I would love to work with you! I will help you stay accountable to those things in life you really want to work on. I believe you have everything within you to be the best you can be and will walk every step of the way with you.
Coaching could be likened to a conversation but with a difference. It’s a conversation with intent, the intention being to move you forward in your life. I will ask you questions and explore with you what is holding you back.
I can, but I don’t actually even have to meet you! Coaching over the phone/Skype is very effective and really popular too. It provides great flexibility for people with busy lifestyles.
This means I can coach you wherever you happen to be
- at your office at lunchtime when you need a break before getting back to work or before the day even starts
- a coffee shop with your hands wrapped round a double expresso cinnamon latte with extra whipped cream
- in the comfort of your own home wearing your pj’s
- a tropical island if it takes your fancy!
What you can expect when working with me?
- We will have fun. I like to have humour in my sessions, it keeps it light and fresh
- You will feel energised and ready to take action
- Occasional homework, little assignments between sessions to help you to keep moving forward. Real results often happen in between coaching sessions
- I will challenge you to take action, that’s my job
- Using various tools and techniques I will help you to see things from a different perspective
- You will be in a safe, non judgmental environment, with 100% confidentiality
- I will get you to try new ways of being and thinking and will gently push you outside of your comfort zone to help you achieve what you desire
- I will celebrate with you as you share your progress and successes; I want to be your cheerleader!
- Coaching is about discovery and raising self awareness, you will learn a lot about yourself through the process and life will seem clearer and easier somehow
- Feedback on your strengths and achievements, a boost of confidence
- If you’re prepared to do some work then this will be a wonderful journey for you
So why be coached?
‘Life’s not that bad, ok there’s some areas I know could be better but…’
Is this you? Then have some Coaching. Life doesn’t have to be just ok, it can be A-MAZ-ING!
My niche is working with Coaches, however I do run group life coaching sessions live and online. (online coming soon!) Click on the ‘Life Coaching’ button for more information
If any of these resonate with you then let’s work together…
- You’re an intelligent Coach, know what needs to be done, but can’t get going because you procrastinate
- You have a million and one ideas and interests, are like a sponge trying to learn everything you can about Coaching, so much so you find it difficult to prioritise and keep focused
- You feel that you have a never ending to do list and constantly hit overwhelm trying to juggle a family and your new business/venture
- Yes you’re passionate about Coaching but you chose this career to give you a better work life balance and you’re not there yet
- Your time management is all out of whack. You never seem to have time for yourself (and you just said ‘what’s that?!’ when you read the time for yourself bit!)
- You’re setting up your business while still in a job but you can’t leave it because you need the money and don’t know what else you can do
- You want to build and hone your Coaching skills
Coaching is completely different to working through areas of your life with family/friends. They come with their own agenda and their own take on things so don’t necessarily always view things objectively. They then often give you advice on what they would do in your situation. The trouble with this is they will never experience your situation in exactly the same way as you do. It’s a bit like a film where certain characters within the performance don’t know what’s going on and you’re shouting at the screen telling them what they should do. They don’t have all of the information to hand so they are working with gaps. You, however, do. You just need someone to help you work through the different options enabling you to get clarity and set some goals/action. It’s great being able to talk with someone that is detached from a situation and can help you look at things differently. Trust me on this, I get coached myself so know how valuable it is.
Added Bonus:
Along the way you will learn some skills that you can use to self-coach through your own life scenarios. People who commit to coaching often find there are wider benefits, such as finding you are using some of the tips and techniques you have learnt from your sessions to move things on, or resolve issues with your family, with friends, or at work.
