Love Your Body

Love your body… What do you think when I say that to you?

Often people immediately think of something that they don’t like about their body, whether it’s their nose is too small/too big, their legs aren’t long enough or their tummies not flat enough.  What if loving your body was more than just what you see?  What if loving your body meant looking after it in terms of good nutrition, exercise, sleep, rest and relaxation?

We forget how absolutely amazing our bodies are.  We complain on the day that our feet hurt because we’ve walked too far or our shoes are pinching, but what about all of the days that those little tootsies got us from A to B without so much as a thank you from us?

What about your mind?  How could you be kinder to yourself in terms of what you say about your body? When you hear yourself saying mean things, ask yourself whether you would say that to a friend.  I remember when I was four stone heavier than I am now I would look in the mirror and say the nastiest of things to myself.  I wouldn’t dream of staying friends with someone if they treated me that way, so why do we do it to ourselves?

I’d like to challenge you to find one thing about your body that you are happy with.  Whether it’s your eyes, your dimples, your waist.  Celebrate something about you that is unique.

When you feed your mind with good thoughts and your body with good food you will be much healthier.

What do you need to do today to feed them with the good stuff?
